Uniting NSW.ACT is seeking a Casual Relief Registered Nurse for Uniting Mingaletta in Port Macquarie. You will provide person-centred care, lead clinical services, and work across shifts to ensure continuous coverage.

The role requires a Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration, strong assessment skills, and excellent communication. You will collaborate with the care team and families to support residents’ goals, in a warm, household-style setting.

Situated in Port Macquarie, Uniting Mingaletta is a residential aged care facility offering a welcoming living environment. Our facility is designed using the household model of care. This fosters a warm, family-like atmosphere where we strive to ensure every resident feels at home. We have single rooms, and our facility is currently undergoing a room refurbishment to ensure our facilities are modernised.

Role Overview:

As a Registered Nurse at Uniting Mingaletta, you will be at the forefront of delivering exceptional person-centred care to our residents. Your clinical expertise and compassionate approach will ensure that each resident received the highest standard of care tailored to their individual needs.

This is a casual relief position, providing flexible coverage across a range of shifts, including short-notice sick leave. Hours and shifts will vary based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • You will be a clinical leader in the service, and you will develop, deliver, and evaluate resident care plans to meet the individual needs of our residents
  • You’ll need sharp clinical assessment skills and will take the lead in providing clinical services
  • Get to know each resident and become a fundamental part of their life
  • Play an important role in making sure the care provided meets residents’ individual goals
  • You’ll liaise with medical and allied health professionals and residents’ family members to advocate for clients’ quality of life
  • Supervise and support our Personal Care Workers
  • Practice in a holistic way, using your critical decision‑making skills to lead the team
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Hold a Bachelor of Nursing degree with current registration (AHPRA)
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Empathy, resilience, and a genuine passion for enhancing the lives of older residents.
  • Previous aged or community care experience is desirable; however, nurses from other healthcare settings and new graduates are encouraged to apply
