Job summary

Serco is seeking a Registered Nurse for Gaza Ridge Health Centre in Bandiana near Wodonga. This fixed-term, full-time bench role involves shift work, weekend work, and potential travel.

You will provide high-quality primary healthcare to Defence members within a multidisciplinary team and support injury recovery and prevention. Ideal applicants hold unrestricted AHPRA RN registration, at least one year of RN experience in acute or military settings, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum one year Registered Nurse experience in acute care, primary healthcare or military setting.
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009).
• Australian Citizenship required (Baseline Security Clearance).
• Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient centred care.
• Ability to work a 24/7 roster.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality primary healthcare, including health assessments and vaccinations or monitor and manage patients in a low-dependency ward setting.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including GPs, physios, mental health clinicians, and dental professionals.
• Support Defence members through injury recovery, chronic condition management, and preventative care.

About Gaza Ridge Health Centre

The Gaza Ridge Health Centre is located on Gaza Ridge South at Bandiana near Wodonga. The Albury Wodonga Military Area consists of 3 barracks and is home to the Army’s Logistic Training Centre, Joint Logistics Unit Victoria and Schooling in various areas. This is a large base providing services to over 5000 Defence Force members. The health centre provides primary medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical care. There is also a 20-bed low dependency ward which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The standard operating hours are 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).

This is a fixed term full time bench position that involves shift work, weekend work and travel if operationally required.
