Devonport Family Medical Centre in Tasmania is seeking a dedicated Practice Nurse (Registered Nurse) for a full-time role Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will deliver GP Management Plans, perform health assessments and related procedures, and support GPs with nursing care.

Ideal applicants will have current AHPRA registration, GP or primary care experience, excellent communication, and strong computer skills.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse is essential.
• Experience in General Practice or primary health care is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer literacy.
• Ability to commence immediately in Devonport, Tasmania or with notice period considered.

Responsabilités

• Deliver GP Management Plans, Team Care Arrangements, Health Assessments and related care programs (ECGs, Spirometry, urine testing, diabetes and asthma management).
• Participate in Quality Improvement Activities.
• Provide culturally appropriate assessments, therapeutic and educational services for clients with chronic disease.
• Educate patients on therapies and treatments and review outcomes.
• Uphold professional codes of ethics and adapt to changes to benefit patients and staff.
• Provide nursing support to General Practitioners.

About Us

Devonport Family Medical Centre provides high-quality medical care for all patients, in a professional and respectful manner. This practice supports 13 highly trained GPs, and is home to strong nursing and administrative teams.

About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Practice Nurse (Registered Nurse) to join our team on a Full Time basis (Monday to Friday). Our ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a caring nature, high level communication skills, and attention to detail.

The Practice Nurse will:

• Be experienced in the delivery of GP Management Plans, Team Care Arrangements, Health Assessments, CVC program, ECGs, Spirometry, urine testing, diabetes cycle of care, Asthma Management Plan, Comprehensive Medical Assessments
• Participate in Quality Improvement Activities
• Provide culturally appropriate assessments, therapeutic and education services for clients with chronic disease as required
• Ensure that clients receive education on the use of therapies and treatments prescribed and feedback on the outcomes of therapy and treatment
• Adhere to relevant professional Code of Ethics guidelines
• A willingness to implement and adapt to change when required to benefit patients, staff, and the wider group
• Provide general nursing support to the General Practitioners

About You

• Full working rights in Australia
• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse is essential
• Demonstrated experience working in General Practice or a Primary Health care setting is preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer literacy
• Ready to commence as soon as possible in Devonport, Tasmania - immediate start is available but exceptional applicants with a notice period are still encouraged to apply
