Job summary

IHR Group is seeking Registered Midwives to join a private Sydney Birth Unit, delivering evidence-based midwifery care across the Birth Suite, Post-Natal Wards and Special Care Nursery on a rotating basis.

You will collaborate with obstetricians, neonatologists, and a maternity educator to upskill and support families, with roles available in full-time and part-time capacities at a private hospital in Sydney.

Qualifications

• Current registration with APHRA.
• Current NSW Working with Children Check.
• Proven experience in a similar midwifery role.
• Special Care Nursery experience is advantageous.
• Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
• Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work well independently and within a team.
• Compliance with NSW Health Policy.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based midwifery care and provide exceptional patient experience to the woman and family.
• Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team.
• Ensure patient and staff safety.
• Supervise and guide midwifery/nursing team members and Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing.
• Deliver education and support to mothers and families.

Excellent opportunities exist for enthusiastic and motivated Registered Midwives to work in a dynamic Birth Suite with a dedicated team of midwives, obstetricians, and neonatologistsat a private hospital in Sydney. There are full-time and part-time roles available.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Registered Midwife, you will join a dedicated team of midwives, obstetricians, and neonatologists. There will be adedicated maternity educator who will support your upskilling and provide a great introduction to the unit.You will also work across the Post-Natal Wards and Special Care Nursery on a rotational basis as required.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering evidence-based midwifery care and providing exceptional patient experience to the woman and their families;
• Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team;
• Ensuring patient and staff safety;
• Supervising, directing, and guiding midwifery/nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs), to deliver patient care;
• Delivering education and support to mothers and their families.

REMUNERATION

A salary ranging from $40.26 - $56.54 per hour.

ABOUT THE FACILITY

The hospital, located in Southern Sydney, has 168 overnight beds and specialises in cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, spinal surgery, endovascular surgery, interventional neuroradiology, general surgery, general medicine, liver surgery, orthopedics, maternity, and pediatrics. The hospital also has dedicated Day Surgery, a Coronary Care Unit, and an Intensive Care Unit.
