Job summary

McKinlay Shire Council in Julia Creek, QLD, is seeking a Works Manager to lead planning, delivery and maintenance of council works and infrastructure projects on-site. You will coordinate road, drainage and civil works, supervise crews and contractors, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Regular reporting and stakeholder liaison are required. The role demands strong experience in civil construction, roadworks and WHS compliance, with a C-class driver's licence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in civil construction with supervision of crews and contractors.
• Knowledge of budget, scheduling, and cost control in civil works.
• Strong focus on safety, risk management and WHS compliance.
• Familiarity with Roading/Infrastructure projects and standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage annual maintenance and works programs.
• Coordinate maintenance, construction and minor capital works safely and on time.
• Monitor project progress, budgets and quality standards.
• Liaise with residents, suppliers and stakeholders to deliver services.
• Prepare monthly activity reports and optimize resource use.
