Job summary

PYBAR Mining Services, part of the Thiess group, seeks an experienced Regional Operations Manager to lead multiple underground mining projects from a safety and performance perspective. You will collaborate with Project Managers, Site Leaders, and the Senior Leadership Team to drive safety, productivity, and profitable contract delivery across Australian operations.

The role requires travel and regional leadership across sites.

Qualifications

• Extensive leadership experience in underground mining operations and cross-site leadership.
• Strong commercial acumen with budgets, forecasting, and profitability focus.
• Proven ability to build credible relationships with clients, employees and senior leaders.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and strategic decision-making capability.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across multiple underground mining projects, ensuring safe, efficient and profitable contract delivery.
• Lead, coach and develop Project Managers and senior site leaders, building high-performing leadership teams.
• Drive continuous improvement and standardization across projects to improve safety, productivity, cost performance and profitability.
• Partner with Project Managers on plans, budgets, forecasts, workforce requirements and resource strategies to meet objectives.
• Monitor project performance using safety, operational and commercial metrics and address risks proactively.
• Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships to support contract delivery and future growth opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, mining regulations, contracts and company policies.
• Provide visible safety leadership and promote a culture of accountability across operations.
• Support workforce planning and succession development across the region; help mobilisations and growth opportunities.
