Job summary

The Salvation Army Employment Plus (EPlus) Gippsland is recruiting for a Psychologist, Provisional Psychologist or Social Worker to provide counselling and therapeutic services to job seekers with diverse mental health conditions and complex psycho-social needs. Part-time and full-time options are available, offering a rewarding role with broad experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and clinical practice with practical application.
• Experience with people having mental health conditions and complex psycho-social needs, including SUD.
• Experience delivering counselling to vulnerable individuals.
• Experience assessing needs and making referrals to supports.
• Experience managing at-risk clients (suicide/violence).
• Knowledge of employment services and community services sector.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological and vocational assessment for referred job seekers using appropriate tests and tools.
• Provide counselling and therapeutic interventions to address psychological barriers to employment.
• Provide consultation support to employment staff in the region.
• Liaise with internal and external service providers to strengthen links and networks for job seekers.
• Communicate effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
