Job summary

Australian Department of Veterans' Affairs – Melbourne VIC is seeking an experienced Practice Manager (APS6) to lead administrative and operational functions supporting Open Arms clients across the region. This on-site role offers some flexibility for arrangements where operations permit, reporting to the region's Director.

You will provide executive support, manage resources, and drive quality improvement while aligning with national policies and strategic goals for veterans services.

Qualifications

• Australian citizenship is required under the Public Service Act 1999.
• Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance must be obtained/maintained.
• Pre-engagement screening checks may be required for external candidates.
• Recruitment may be ongoing and/or non-ongoing; probationary period applies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate operational and administrative support across Open Arms centres regionally.
• Provide regional leadership and strategic support, including business planning and reporting.
• Draft business cases, action briefs and responses for national office and ministerial requests.
• Support regional recruitment activities and HR requirements.
• Assist with regional budget development, accruals, approvals and acquisitions management.
• Embed quality improvement aligned with national policy and SOPs.

Education

Certificate IV equivalent qualification in office, practice and/or business management or similar field
