Job summary

Australian Department of Veterans' Affairs – Melbourne VIC is seeking a Practice Manager for Open Arms – Veterans & Families Counselling. The role is based in Melbourne and leads a regional administrative team to support Open Arms services across the region.

You will provide executive support to the Director, oversee budgeting and reporting, and drive quality improvement in processes in line with national policy.

Qualifications

• Australian citizenship is required under the Public Service Act 1999.
• External hires may need to undergo a pre-engagement screening check.
• Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance is required.
• Desirable: Certificate IV equivalent qualification in office, practice and/or business management or similar field.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate operational and administrative support of the region across multiple Open Arms centres.
• Provide executive assistance to the Director including drafting of business cases, action briefs and responses to requests.
• Coordinate human resource requirements for the region’s support team and assist recruitment activities.
• Support the region’s financial requirements including budget development, accruals, and approvals.
• Embed quality improvement principles to align regional processes with national policy and procedures.
• Develop and collaborate with stakeholders involved in service consultation processes to support Open Arms delivery.
• Apply APS values and safe working practices in daily operations.

Education
