Job summary

Western Downs Regional Council is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Officer to oversee maintenance and repairs of council facilities across the region. You will coordinate procurement, manage contractors, and ensure works align with approved plans and budgets while delivering cost efficiencies.

The role requires a relevant Carpentry trade qualification (or equivalent experience), a QLD White Card, and tickets for Bobcat or elevated work platforms.

Qualifications

• A trade qualification in Carpentry or equivalent building maintenance experience.
• Essential to demonstrate related experience in building maintenance or trades.
• Desirable: White Card, Bobcat and Elevated Work Platform tickets, MR Licence.

Responsibilities

• Undertake repairs, maintenance, replacements and modifications of Council buildings and facilities.
• Assess requested works, coordinate procurement, and manage contractor delivery.
• Provide technical guidance to staff and contractors to meet plans and budgets.
