Job summary

Cleanaway is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead engineering and project delivery across WA industrial facilities. You will steward a portfolio of 10–20 capital projects annually, from concept development through commissioning, partnering with operations to identify asset improvements and manage risk.

You will lead a small team, provide governance for MOC, PSSR, HAZOP/HAZID, and influence standards, procurement, and long-term investments in a complex industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Process, Chemical or related technical discipline.
• Demonstrated experience delivering engineering CAPEX projects and maintenance outcomes in an industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of project management principles, engineering governance and risk management.
• Proven ability to influence operational and technical stakeholders across multiple functions.
• People leadership experience is advantageous; mentoring and leadership skills for a management role.
• Experience in oil & gas, mining, chemical processing, resource recovery or similar sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and project activities across multiple WA industrial processing facilities.
• Deliver a portfolio of 10–20 capital projects annually (budgets $1–10m) from concept to commissioning.
• Partner with operational leaders to identify asset improvements and manage risk.
• Provide technical leadership for MOC, PSSR, HAZOP/HAZID to ensure safe operations.
• Influence engineering standards, contractor performance, procurement decisions and long-term asset investment.
