Job summary

Isaac Regional Council is seeking an Electrician to support the Water and Waste Directorate across Moranbah or Dysart. You will install, maintain and repair electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and providing diagnostic expertise on diverse sites.

The role offers a practical, hands-on environment with regional travel, rostered hours, and on‑call duties. Applicants should have electrical trade qualifications and a current C class licence, with immunisation requirements

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualifications and licensing are essential.
• C Class driver licence and General Induction Card required.
• Immunisations against Hepatitis A/B and Tetanus may be required.
• Ability to work in the Water and Waste environment with safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test and repair electrical systems and control/telemetry.
• Ensure work meets Electrical Safety Act, regulations and codes.
• Diagnose faults and use testing equipment to troubleshoot.
• Support maintenance programs for water and wastewater assets.
• Audit electrical work for regulatory compliance and provide improvements.
• Collaborate in a team with good communication and planning.
• Assist with contract management, scheduling and reporting.
• Travel to various sites across the Isaac region and be on-call as needed.
• Complete pre-employment medical and capacity assessments.
