Isaac Regional Council's Water and Waste Directorate seeks an experienced Electrician to deliver technical, maintenance and installation support across diverse sites. Live in Moranbah or Dysart and contribute to safe, reliable infrastructure while benefiting from a supportive team focused on safety and continuous improvement.

The role requires electrical trade qualifications, licensing and a C Class licence, with on-call roster and travel across the Isaac region.

Qualifications

• Hold Electrical Trade qualifications, licensing and a C Class Driver Licence.
• Be able to obtain Hepatitis A/B and Tetanus immunisations.
• Strong experience in installation, maintenance, testing and repair of electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test and repair electrical systems and equipment.
• Diagnose electrical faults and resolve issues using testing tools.
• Support planned and preventative maintenance for water, wastewater and waste assets.
• Inspect electrical work for regulatory compliance and recommend improvements.
• Work in a team with strong communication and organisational skills.
• Assist with contract management, scheduling and reporting of works.
• Travel across the Isaac region and participate in rosters and on-call duties.
• Complete pre-employment medical, functional capacity and behavioural assessments.

To be successful in this position, you will:

• Hold Electrical Trade qualifications, relevant licensing, a C Class Driver Licence, General Induction Card, and the ability to obtain Hepatitis A/B and Tetanus immunisations.
• Demonstrate strong experience in the installation, maintenance, testing and repair of electrical systems, equipment and control/telemetry infrastructure.
• Apply sound knowledge of the Electrical Safety Act, Regulations, standards and codes, ensuring all work meets regulatory and legislative requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently using appropriate testing equipment, tools and troubleshooting methods.
• Contribute to planned and preventative maintenance programs to optimise the reliability and efficiency of water, wastewater and waste assets.
• Inspect, audit and verify electrical work for regulatory compliance, providing recommendations for improvements where required.
• Work effectively within a team, showing strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Support contract management, programming and scheduling of works, including accurate reporting and documentation.
• Be willing to work across the Isaac region, participate in rostered hours and the on-call roster, and travel to various sites as needed.
• Successfully complete pre-employment medical, functional capacity and behavioural assessments, ensuring fitness for work.

If you are successful in this position, you will receive:

• Salary $73,257.00 per annum plus allowances (Level C10, Stream C), including: -Subsidised Council housing for just $80 per week in either Moranbah or Dysart
  • $21,000 Over Award Payment
  • Construction workers allowance

• Nominally 38 hours per week with flexible work pattern options
• 5 weeks annual leave per annum @ 17.5% loading
