Isaac Regional Council seeks an Electrician/ SCADA Technician to maintain and enhance electrical and automation systems across water and wastewater facilities. You will deliver programming, SCADA support and preventative maintenance with a hands-on, safety‑focused approach across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Current Electrical Trade qualification and Australian electrical licence.
• Construction White Card and C Class Open Driver’s Licence.
• Hands-on experience with SCADA, PLCs, RTUs and telemetry equipment.
• Experience in electrical maintenance, installation and fault finding in industrial settings.
• Strong problem-solving to diagnose and resolve electrical and automation faults.
• Willing to work on-call across multiple sites and meet health requirements.

Job description

Are you a qualified Electrician with a passion for automation and critical infrastructure? Isaac Regional Council is seeking a skilled Electrician/ SCADA Technician to join our Water and Waste Directorate and play a key role in maintaining and enhancing essential services across the region.
In this diverse, hands-on role, you’ll deliver expert electrical, maintenance, programming and SCADA support across our water and wastewater facilities, helping ensure safe, reliable services for our communities. To be successful in this position, you will:

• Hold a current Electrical Trade qualification, relevant Australian electrical licence, Construction White Card, and C Class Open Driver’s Licence
• Demonstrate experience in electrical maintenance, installation and fault finding within industrial or infrastructure environments
• Have hands‑on experience with SCADA systems, PLCs, RTUs and telemetry equipment, including programming and system upgrades
• Apply strong problem‑solving skills to diagnose and resolve electrical and automation faults, minimising downtime
• Contribute to planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance in collaboration with operational teams
• Ensure all work complies with Electrical Safety legislation, regulations, standards and Council safety systems
• Be willing to participate in an on‑call roster, work flexibly across multiple sites, and meet mandatory health requirements including pre‑employment medicals and immunisations

If you are successful in this position, you will receive:

• Salary $73,257.00 per annum (Level C10, Stream C) plus allowances, including:-
  • $21,000 Over Award Payment
  • Construction workers allowance
  • Locality allowance
  • Tool allowance
• Tool of Trade Vehicle
• Subsidised Council Housing of $80.00 per week
• Nominally 38 hours per week with flexible work pattern options
• 5 weeks annual leave per annum @ 17.5% loading
• 15 days personal leave per annum
