Job summary

Amazon Web Services Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Security Engineer, Region Services, to lead security onboarding and assurance for Australia’s regional cloud services. You will design scalable security controls, automate validation, and collaborate with service teams to meet ISM, PSPF and DSPF requirements.

Based in Melbourne with relocation support, you will work across AWS compute, storage, and IoT offerings, partnering with over 100 global AWS teams to strengthen security postures and

Qualifications

• 3+ years of IT Security experience.
• Experience in scripting, programming, and security code reviewing in a common programming language.
• Experience in troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating basic tasks using command line tools.
• Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead security onboarding and assurance for region-specific cloud services.
• Engineer and automate security-control validation for cloud services and data-transfer pathways.
• Translate security requirements into technical baselines, control objectives and measurable criteria.
• Develop reusable security tooling, automated evidence collection and reporting mechanisms.
• Investigate security events and non-conformance, implement durable remediation.
