Job summary

Core Community Services Limited is recruiting an Employment, Education and Training Settlement Worker for a fixed-term maternity leave covering the Fairfield area, South West Sydney. The role focuses on supporting refugees, migrants and humanitarian entrants to navigate training and employment opportunities and overcome barriers to recognition of overseas qualifications.

Qualifications

• Formal qualifications with a minimum of Diploma in community services, Social Science, Social Work, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Undertake initial client Needs Assessment identifying employment, education and training needs, barriers, and best action.
• Deliver high-quality, culturally appropriate settlement work and active community development.
• Document case plans to support clients using a strength-based approach and promote independence.
• Collaborate with the line manager to develop priorities and projects for employment and training needs.
• Develop strategies through partnerships with internal and external services.
• Organise group work to improve social support networks and integration.
• Identify issues affecting individuals and families and connect them with advocacy and referral services.
• Research client cohorts to inform culturally aware service delivery and maintain confidentiality.

Education

Diploma in community services, Social Science, Social Work, or related field
