Settlement Services International (SSI Group) is seeking a Refugee & Disability Post Placement Support Officer to support participants from refugee backgrounds and people with disabilities after employment. You will maintain regular contact with participants and employers onsite and by phone, assist with workplace adjustments and subsidies, and ensure continued employment success.
You will collect documentary evidence for outcomes, work with the IEA team, and focus on in-work support
Reporting to the Hubs Manager and operating across the Site hub and outreach spokes, the Refugee and Disability Post Placement Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting participants from refugee backgrounds and people with disabilities, particularly once they have secured employment. This role is dedicated to ensuring sustainable and positive employment outcomes through a proactive, hands-on approach that benefits both participants and employers.
Frequent and regular contact is maintained with both the participant and the employer, delivered onsite and via phone, to provide timely guidance and address emerging needs. The officer facilitates access to workplace adjustments and government support subsidies, negotiates work roles and responsibilities to fit both employee and employer needs, and delivers tailored support that enhances job retention.
A core responsibility is to collect and organise documentary evidence that supports outcome claims, ensuring compliance and transparency in reporting. The officer works closely with the IEA team to maintain and secure suitable employment opportunities, focusing on the ‘in work support’ phase once employment is attained. This includes delivering ongoing support services and fostering strong employer partnerships, with a particular emphasis on return service to grow and sustain employer relationships.
The officer is instrumental in achieving 4, 12, 26 and 52-week outcome milestones, as well as ongoing support targets, all of which are crucial for revenue generation, performance metrics, and successful participant outcomes. Their comprehensive approach ensures both the employer and participant are continuously supported, contributing to mutually beneficial employment relationships.
You’ll be part of a respected organisation that’s committed to inclusive employment, professional growth, and community impact. You’ll thrive in a dynamic and supportive environment, working alongside people with disability to help shape their future careers.
If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!
