Job summary

Downer is seeking a Refrigeration and HVAC Technician for permanent placement at Swartz Barracks, Oakey, QLD. You will perform scheduled, preventative and corrective maintenance on refrigeration, air conditioning and HVAC systems and manage refrigerant handling in line with ARCTick licensing.

Responsibilities include diagnosing faults, providing timely responses to stakeholders, and collaborating with other trades to support operations.

Qualifications

• Certificate III Refrigeration and Air Conditioning is required.
• ARCTick Refrigerant Handling licence is desirable.
• QBCC Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Licence (QLD) is required.
• Post-trade experience in refrigeration, air conditioning and HVAC maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability to fault-diagnose and repair refrigeration/HVAC systems.
• Current Open Driver's Licence.

What You’ll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:

• Perform scheduled, preventative and corrective maintenance on refrigeration, air conditioning and HVAC systems.
• Carry out refrigerant handling in accordance with ARCTick licensing obligations
• Provide professional and timely responses to internal and external stakeholders
• Work collaboratively with other trades and subcontracts to support operational delivery

What You’ll Bring

• QBCC Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Licence (QLD)
• Post-trade experience in refrigeration, air conditioning and HVAC maintenance
• Demonstrated expertise in fault diagnosis and repair of refrigeration and HVAC systems
• Current Open Drivers Licence
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Australian citizenship is mandatory).
