Job summary

Downer is seeking a Refrigeration/HVAC Technician for HMAS Harman, Canberra, in a permanent role. You will maintain refrigeration and HVAC systems, manage refrigerant handling per ARCTick, and communicate with stakeholders to ensure reliable operation.

Qualifying with a Certificate III in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, you will bring post-trade experience and a proactive approach. A driver’s licence and security clearance readiness are required for site access.

Qualifications

• Certificate III Refrigeration and Air Conditioning required.
• ARCTick refrigerant handling licence desirable.
• QBCC Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Licence (QLD) or NSW licence.
• Post-trade experience in refrigeration, AC and HVAC maintenance.
• Fault diagnosis and repair skills in refrigeration/HVAC.
• Current open driver’s licence.
• Ability to obtain Defence Security Clearance; Australian citizenship mandatory.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled, preventative and corrective maintenance on refrigeration, air conditioning and HVAC systems.
• Carry out refrigerant handling in accordance with ARCTick licensing obligations.
• Provide professional and timely responses to internal and external stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with other trades and subcontracts to support operational delivery.
