Australian Good Food Guide (AGFG) is seeking a hands-on Recruiter and Trainer for the Gold Coast region. You’ll run recruitment through onboarding, screen and interview candidates, and coach new starters to strong performance in sales and customer service.
You'll design and deliver practical training, build a talent pipeline, and collaborate with department heads to continually improve materials and outcomes. A commercial mindset and initiative are essential to drive results across the team.
The Australian Good Food Guide – Burleigh Waters QLD
You like finding people who have real ability. You also like watching them get better: a new starter's first good sales call, a team member handling an upset customer with confidence, someone landing a deal because your coaching worked.
At AGFG, you'll do both.
We need a practical recruiter and trainer with a commercial mindset. You'll take initiative, build relationships, and stay involved from the first conversation with a candidate through to how they perform in the team.
Australian Good Food Guide (AGFG) is one of Australia's best-known restaurant guides. We connect diners with great venues and help hospitality businesses grow through listings, marketing and digital products. Our customers' experience depends on our people, especially the ones who sell to and support our venue partners. Your job is to find those people, get them started and help them get better.
Work out what managers need, then screen and interview candidates, coordinate next steps, and help new starters settle in quickly.
Onboard new staff and deliver our foundational sales and customer service skills. After handing over to department heads, help them find their feet and maintain the relationship with all staff to fine tune their skills and maximise their results.
Approach potential candidates, develop referrals, and keep a bench of people worth talking to.
Work with department heads to find gaps, update materials, and build new resources such as sales playbooks, scripts and onboarding guides. Check activity and results to see what's working, then adjust.
You might come from recruitment, sales training, or leading a sales or customer-facing team where you hired and developed people. What matters most is proof that you can do both: find good people and coach them to results.
You know what good sales looks like, and you can coach someone to get there.
You can explain how you found a strong candidate, judged whether they were right for the role, and helped them settle in.
You've coached people and can point to what improved, such as conversion, activity, confidence or revenue.
You explain things clearly, adapt to different learners, and give direct, constructive feedback.
You follow through on interviews, training actions and records, and you handle sensitive conversations with discretion.
You have an interest in the RESULTS - not just going through the motions.
Watch the people you hire learn the business, hit their targets and grow.
Work directly with department heads on how we find talent and train people to sell.
Sourcing, interviews, onboarding, sales coaching and building training materials.
We're a sales based organisation and love paying bonuses to the Sales and Customer Success teams. It only follows that our Recruiter/Trainer should share in the upside too.
