Job summary

Camden Council is seeking two Recreation Planner Project Officers to lead planning, development and scoping of open space, sport and recreation projects for a growing NSW community.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary inputs, manage scoping and budgets, and ensure alignment with Council's framework before handover to delivery. A degree in Recreation/Planning and strong stakeholder engagement are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree qualifications and relevant experience in Recreation, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Planning or equivalent related field
• Demonstrated relevant experience in sport and recreation planning and policy development
• Demonstrated experience in delivering passive and active recreation infrastructure
• Demonstrated experience in managing community and stakeholder engagement at various levels throughout the planning and design process
• Good analytical, creative thinking, negotiation, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills that lead to innovative and effective solutions in a changing environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to apply EEO, WHS and ethical practice principles and to act with probity at all times
• Current Drivers Licence
• Experience delivering projects within a structured project management framework
• Experience in a local government environment
• Knowledge and understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks
• Appropriate research, reporting and computer skills
• Demonstrated project and resource management skills

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, development and scoping of open space, sport and recreation projects to meet community needs.
• Prepare plans, strategies and business cases supported by evidence-based research, community consultation and stakeholder engagement.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs, manage project scoping and budgets.
• Ensure projects align to Council's objectives and Project Management Framework prior to handover for delivery.
