Job summary

Wellways Australia is seeking a Recovery Worker to support individuals in Mildura within the Psychosocial Recovery Service. The role is permanent part-time (3-4 days per week), based in Mildura, with travel between service locations and a focus on person-centred, trauma-informed support.

You will complete initial conversations and assessments, develop action plans and connect participants and their families with peer support, education programs and primary health services.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications or commensurate experience in a support role for people with mental health issues.
• Current valid Driver’s License and the ability to undertake travel.
• Appropriate IT skills.
• Right to Work within Australia.
• Satisfactory National Police Records Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children’s Check or willingness to obtain.
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate.

Support individuals in your own community in achieving their recovery goals

$42.55p/h + superannuation + salary packaging benefits + leave loading

Under the direction of the Team Leader, the Recovery Worker completes initial conversations and assessments, develops action plans, and works alongside participants to support them in achieving their recovery goals.

In this role, you will facilitate group activities that build capacity, confidence and life skills, while providing individualised, person centred, recovery focused and trauma informed support. You will also support participants and their families, carers and supporters to connect with peer support, education programs and primary health services where appropriate.

Travel between service locations is required as part of this role. Travel occurs during work hours using Wellways pool vehicles, with no overnight travel required.

By delivering high quality support, you will help participants, their families, carers and supporters strengthen wellbeing, build on their strengths and participate in community life in ways that are meaningful to them.

About the program

The Psychosocial Recovery Service (PRS) is a program that exists to provide non-clinical based psychosocial support services to assist people experiencing severe mental health challenges, resulting in a reduction in psychosocial functional capacity as well as their family and their carers.

What do you need?

• Relevant qualifications or commensurate experience in working in a support role for people with mental health issues - Certificate IV qualification or above preferred
