Job summary

Wellways Australia in Deniliquin, NSW is seeking a part-time Well Connected support worker to empower individuals with severe mental illness to engage in their community. You will develop personalised recovery plans with a range of professionals and deliver tailored interventions to build life skills.

The role emphasises culturally safe services for CALD and Indigenous communities, with flexible hours and strong collaboration within a recovery framework.

Qualifications

• Must have contemporary understanding of mental health and recovery orientated practice.
• Ability to develop practice through supervision, reflection, and training.
• Completion of Certificate 4 in Mental Health, Certificate 4 in Mental Health Peer Work or Certificate 4 in Community Services, or be enrolled toward one.
• Capability to develop rapport with people from diverse backgrounds and with diverse orientations.
• Current valid Driver’s License and ability to travel for the role.
• Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Right to Work within Australia.
• Satisfactory National Police Records Check (less than 12 months old).
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to participants, families and carers within Wellways programs.
• Collaborate with participants to develop personalised recovery plans with clinicians and other professionals.
• Deliver specialist interventions and individual/group activities to build independent living skills.
• Connect participants with community resources and ensure culturally safe services.
