Job summary

The Mater Hospital in Sydney, NSW, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Anaesthetics and Recovery team on a permanent, part‑time basis. You will provide specialised nursing care to patients recovering from anaesthesia and surgical procedures in a modern private hospital setting.

You will monitor vitals, respond to deterioration, administer medications, and support patients and families through recovery, all within a culture that values safety, education, and clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• Valid AHPRA registration with Division 1.
• Experience in PACU, critical care, emergency, ICU or anaesthetic nursing is highly desirable.
• Commitment to patient-centred care and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialised nursing care to patients recovering from anaesthesia and surgical procedures.
• Monitor vital signs and assess patients during the recovery phase.
• Recognise and respond to clinical deterioration and post-operative complications.
• Administer medications and pain management therapies as prescribed.
• Educate and support patients and families throughout the recovery journey.
• Contribute to a culture of safety, quality improvement and clinical excellence.
