Job summary

Mater Hospital Sydney is seeking a Registered Nurse for Anaesthetics and Recovery in Sydney, NSW. This permanent, part-time role focuses on caring for patients in the anaesthesia and recovery phase, with responsibilities spanning assessment, monitoring, and pain management.

The successful candidate will work within Surgical Services, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety, high-quality care, and patient education throughout the recovery journey.

Qualifications

• Valid registration with AHPRA DIV1, minimum 2 years.
• Commitment to patient-centered care.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Previous PACU/CCU/ICU or Anaesthetic nursing experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialised nursing care to patients recovering from anaesthesia and surgical procedures.
• Conduct ongoing patient assessments and monitor vital signs during recovery.
• Recognise and respond to clinical deterioration and post-operative complications.
• Administer medications and pain management therapies as prescribed.
• Educate and support patients and their families throughout the recovery journey.
• Contribute to a culture of safety, quality improvement and clinical excellence.
