Job summary

Mercy Health’s Clare Moore Building in Werribee offers a permanent, 0.4 EFT consumer peer support role within a 54-bed adult mental health inpatient unit. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to empower consumers in their recovery, providing psychosocial support, safety planning, and advocacy.

Qualifications

• Lived experience of mental ill-health and treatment within a mental health service
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
• Current driver’s licence

Responsibilities

• Contributes effectively to clinical review processes within a multidisciplinary team.
• Assists consumers to be aware of their rights and responsibilities.
• Contributes to recovery‑orientated practice and information resources for consumers and their families.
• Provides information to consumers receiving services with staff support as needed.
• Collaborates to develop, review and provide information resources for consumers and carers.
