Job summary

Mind Australia is seeking a self-motivated Community Mental Health Practitioner for a permanent part-time role (26 hours per week) located in Gippsland. You will engage with clients using lived experience to deliver empathetic support within recovery-focused and trauma-informed practice.

Requirements include tertiary qualifications in mental health related field and experience working with mental health issues. We value family-inclusive and collaborative approaches across services.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or related field.
• Experience working with people with mental health issues and families.
• Ability to implement recovery-oriented frameworks including trauma-informed care and family-inclusive practice.
• Experience facilitating group activities for clients experiencing mental ill health.
• Understanding of the Community Services sector and ability to build relationships with service providers.

Responsibilities

• Draw on lived and living experience to inform practice.
• Provide direct support to clients and facilitate positive educational and social experiences.
• Work with services to deliver coordinated recovery goals.
• Support individuals, families and carers within a recovery framework.
• Plan and deliver group work programs to build skills and recovery.
• Assist clients in building networks with families and community services.
