Job summary

Slade Group in Wangaratta is seeking a Rearing Manager/Broiler Manager to own and grow a new poultry facility from 50,000 to 200,000 birds. You will be hands-on in the sheds daily, monitoring welfare, biosecurity and flock performance while taking ownership of operations.

As the facility scales, your role and impact will expand, shaping processes and ensuring safety and quality. A practical, detail‑oriented leader is essential for success in this greenfield project.

Rearing Manager / Broiler Manager — New Poultry Facility, Wangaratta

A new poultry facility outside Wangaratta is being developed in stages, starting at around 50,000 birds and scaling to 200,000 and we're looking for a Rearing Manager / Broiler Manager to take genuine ownership of the operation as it grows. This is a rare chance to shape how a farm is run from an early stage, rather than stepping into an established set-up.

The Role

You'll be hands-on in the sheds every day, monitoring the birds and taking full responsibility for welfare, biosecurity, safety and flock performance. As the facility scales, so will your role and impact.

What You'll Bring

• A poultry background, ideally with rearing or broiler experience
• Experience on a rearing farm or in an equivalent broiler operation preferred
• A genuinely hands-on approach — comfortable being in the sheds daily
• Strong attention to detail and a real sense of ownership; years of experience matter less than capability
