Job summary

Valley Park Farm in Victoria is seeking a highly motivated Poultry Farm Manager to lead day-to-day operations across sheds, water systems and equipment. You will oversee staff, ensure welfare of stock, and coordinate production to meet contract demand.

Recent and extensive poultry experience is essential. Strong leadership, mechanical skills and capable time management are required to organise farming tasks, supervise new hires and optimise performance.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the excellent welfare of stock.
• Organise and conduct farming operations such as maintaining sheds and water systems.
• Preparation of sheds for batches of chickens.
• Daily operations, feed ordering and movement of livestock.
• Maintain cleanliness, maintenance and stock control.
• Identify and control environmental toxins, weeds, pests, and diseases.
• Daily and weekly reporting.
• Supervision of existing staff and training new staff; managing capital and planning production to meet contract requirements.

Valley Park Farm is a locally owned Victorian business. Our first farm was established in the heart of one of Australia’s most productive farming lands, the Goulburn Valley. Our three original sites are bordered by the Goulburn River on one side and Great Dividing Range on the other. Expansion in 2012 saw the addition of a farm nestled amongst the rolling hills of the Strathbogie Ranges. An abundant fresh water natural spring carries life and nourishment to our free-range hens, where our farm began free range egg production in 2013.

Are you a leader who will work in the sheds, with the livestock, checking the checker & lead the team? Do you have poultry livestock skills, mechanical skills and good people skills? Can you manage your own time and the time of your people?

This position is available for a competent and highly motivated person who can effectively assist in the management of the day-to-day functions of a farm. The duties will include, but not limited to: Ensuring the excellent welfare of stock

Organise and conduct farming operations such as maintaining sheds & surrounding areas, water supply system and equipment Preparation of sheds for batches of chickens Daily operations, feed ordering and movement of livestock

Maintain cleanliness, maintenance and stock control Identify and control environmental toxins, weeds, pests, and diseases Daily and weekly reporting

Supervision of existing staff and training new staff. Managing business capital, monitoring market activity and planning production to meet contract requirements and market demand

Salary from $100,000 per annum (incl Accommodation and Utility) + Super
