Job summary

Veris, a market-leading national survey, spatial and planning business, seeks a surveyor to join our Reality Capture team. You will independently run standard survey projects from brief through to delivery, with potential to grow into advanced reality capture methods including UAV, TLS, SLAM, LiDAR/photogrammetry, MLS and Hydro Capture.

You will perform topographic surveys, control surveys, GPS setup and network adjustments, point-cloud extractions, and QA-driven project delivery.

Qualifications

• Self-sufficient in the field but collaborative in a team-based delivery model.
• Adaptable - comfortable moving between traditional survey tasks and emerging reality capture technology.
• Clear communicator, able to interpret briefs and flag issues before they become delivery risks.
• Comfortable working to internal QA/compliance standards and documented methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Topographic feature and level surveys - full workflow from field capture to output
• Control surveys - establishment, checking, and adjustment of survey control networks
• GPS setup and network adjustments - static/RTK GPS setup, baseline processing, and network adjustment
• Point cloud reductions and extraction - extracting survey-grade data (features, levels, linework) from point cloud datasets
• Sound fundamentals - strong grasp of survey theory, coordinate systems, datums, error propagation, and QA principles
• Autonomous project delivery - able to take a client/project brief and run the full field-to-delivery lifecycle on a standard survey project with minimal supervision
