Job summary

Geosurv is expanding its Spatial & Digital team in Sydney and seeks a 3D Scanning Specialist. The role focuses on field capture through to final deliverables, across construction and infrastructure projects in Sydney.

You will work with 3D laser scanning, reality capture, and spatial data production, bringing surveying or geospatial experience and QA discipline. The position offers exposure to mobile scanning, UAV work, and a range of technologies, with opportunities to develop core competencies

Qualifications

• Experience in surveying, geospatial or reality capture.
• Practical experience with 3D laser scanners and point cloud data.
• Understanding of survey control and spatial accuracy.
• Experience using 3D scanning, point cloud and CAD software.
• Strong data-processing skills and QA commitment.
• Ability to work independently in the field and with a team.
• Good communication with clients and a professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking site-based 3D laser scanning and reality capture.
• Capturing, processing and managing point cloud data.
• Producing models, drawings and other project deliverables.
• Establishing and verifying survey control for scanning projects.
• Processing and interpreting scan data using 3D scanning and CAD software.
• Planning and delivering mobile scanning projects.
• Supporting UAV-based projects from planning to processing.
• Reviewing project scopes and selecting scanning methods.
• Performing QA checks to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Collaborating with project teams and clients to meet requirements.
• Managing project data, documentation and deliverables.
• Identifying smarter ways to capture and deliver spatial information.
