Job summary

ACEREZ is hiring for a Real Time Operations Engineer Trainee to support monitoring, control and coordination of the transmission network. The role offers exposure to end-to-end outage planning, switching, and emergency response within a 24/7 Operations environment.

The Trainee will develop competency across SCADA/EMS, network safety procedures, and liaison with stakeholders. A strong electrical engineering foundation and willingness to work 24/7 after authorised progression are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or working towards.
• Clear and concise communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of transmission system security, HV apparatus, protection & control, operating procedures, and safety rules.
• Basic understanding of power system modelling.
• Willingness to undertake shift work on a 24/7 roster once fully authorised.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SCADA and EMS to ensure security and stability.
• Liaise with operators and NSPs for outages and coordination.
• Manage emergencies and escalation of incidents.
• Document incidents and network status accurately.
