Job summary

Ausgrid is seeking candidates for its Control Room Development Program in Wallsend. You will rotate across different areas, undertake on-the-job training, and work to become authorised as LV and/or HV Control Room Operator.

You will engage in network operations, emergency response activities, and ensure a safe, reliable, and affordable network for customers. The program includes field and classroom training, with progression to Class 6C/6B authority and exposure to control room duties, on-call

Qualifications

• Cert III in Electrotechnology (or equivalent) or an Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a Degree Qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in electrical roles within electricity distribution or related industry is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex design documentation, including schematics and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate field employees to ensure adequate resources for scheduled tasks.
• Identify network faults and abnormalities and respond to incidents.
• Coordinate network rectification and routine switching work.
• Operate and monitor Ausgrid’s Advanced Distribution Management System and maintain related systems and data.
