Job summary

Royal Mail in Winton is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels in the local area.

You will work a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends, with a 37-hour week across five days and a fixed-term contract of nine months.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift/carry 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated

Job type: Fixed Termcontract, 9 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.Working hours: 37hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday

• Sunday –07:00/20:00
• Supporting two separate shifts between 07:00
• 15:00 & 13:00
• 20:00 for Letter Deliveries & Parcel Deliveries.

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work one in four Sundays at WintonDelivery Office.

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
