Job summary

Berrigan Shire Council is seeking a motivated Revenue Officer to join the Corporate Services team for a 12-month maternity leave position. You’ll assist with rates, water, debtors, property and revenue processes and help customers navigate payments.

Reporting to the Revenue Coordinator, you’ll gain hands-on experience across council revenue operations while supporting a collaborative finance team. This full-time role offers a stable environment and opportunities to develop local government

Qualifications

• Experience in revenue, rates, debtors or administrative roles.
• Experience with debt collection and payment arrangements.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Driver’s Licence and National Police Check current.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Council’s rating, revenue, debtor and property systems.
• Prepare and issue rates notices, water charges and debtor invoices.
• Process land transfers, property updates and related certificates.
• Assist with recovery of outstanding rates and charges.
• Provide customer service for ratepayers and public queries.
• Complete daily bank reconciliations and support other finance tasks.
