Job summary

Sunshine Coast Council is seeking a Reconciliation Action Plan Officer (Identified) to coordinate the Stretch RAP 2025-2028 across First Nations communities. You will work with the First Nations Lead, Traditional Custodians and internal stakeholders to advance reconciliation outcomes.

You\'ll build cultural capability, support engagement activities, and contribute to initiatives that make a lasting difference for the region, aligning with council\'s vision of a sustainable, inclusive community.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of First Nations cultures, histories and contemporary issues.
• Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders to foster collaboration and trust.
• Proven ability to coordinate projects and manage multiple priorities within a community setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor the implementation of Sunshine Coast Council's Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan, including reporting and progress tracking.
• Provide governance and secretariat support to RAP Working Group and RAP Champion, including meeting coordination and action management.
• Collaborate across Council to deliver RAP initiatives and integrate reconciliation outcomes into business activities.
• Build and maintain relationships with Traditional Custodians, First Nations communities and key stakeholders and support engagement activities.
