In this role, you will:
  • Deliver the Operational and Annual Work Plans under the direction of the Ranger in Charge or 2IC.
  • Operate and maintain plant and equipment, control pest plants and animals, and undertake planned burning and wildfire suppression.
  • Maintain park infrastructure, manage small projects, and perform natural and cultural resource management duties.
  • Provide on-ground supervision to field staff and work collaboratively with others.

While most work will be field-based, you will also complete administrative tasks, including record-keeping, procurement, and workplace health and safety monitoring. Practical skills in operating and maintaining small power equipment and tools are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate clearly and maintain a positive, supportive approach.
  • Work effectively in a team, as a supervisor, and independently.
  • Undertake estate development and protection duties, and compliance tasks.
  • Assist with emergency responses and provide information to park visitors and stakeholders.
  • Support and promote the interests of First Nations people.
What We're Looking For:
  • A strong personal work ethic, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively or independently.
  • Practical experience in environmental management and asset maintenance.
  • Formal qualifications in Conservation and Land Management, along with an ACDC licence and a General Construction Induction Training (White) card, are highly regarded but not mandatory.

This role requires accountability, environmental expertise, and a commitment to teamwork. If you have a positive attitude, enjoy working with others (and occasionally independently), and are passionate about preserving Queensland's natural landscapes, we encourage you to apply.

Shared accommodation may be negotiated for this position.
