Job summary

CPB Contractors is seeking an experienced Training Lead for the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project to ensure competent workforce and compliant training services. You will manage budgets, maintain training matrices, and coordinate with client requirements, Queensland Rail and TMR standards, while guiding a high-performing training team and maintaining Rail Industry Worker systems for timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in human resources, business administration, education (desirable)
• Minimum 10+ years’ experience with training and development in construction/engineering
• Strong understanding of construction methods, safety regulations and industry tools
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to build a high performing team
• Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated high level analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to ActivUs’s SHEQ Cultural Framework and safety culture

Responsibilities

• Managing training budgets and resources for the LGCFR project.
• Maintaining the Training Needs Analysis and matrices to meet client expectations and relevant legislation.
• Ensuring all workforce training meets Queensland Rail and TMR competency requirements.
• Verifying personnel competencies before accessing rail corridor or critical works.
• Liaising with internal project leaders and subcontractors to confirm training requirements, gaps and upcoming skills.
• Supporting the professional growth of the training team with guidance, constructive feedback and sharing expertise.
• Managing and maintaining Rail Industry Worker system for the project, monthly reporting or relevant competency expiration dates.
• Monthly reporting against the Qld Government Building and Construction Training Policy.
• Preparing Quarterly Skills Development Progress Report
