Job summary

V/Line in Victoria is seeking a Surfacing Track Machine Operator to maintain and improve our rail network. You will operate tampers and regulators, support renewal projects across regional locations, and work a 10 days on/4 days off roster with rotating days and nights.

The successful candidate will hold a current driver’s licence, Cert II in Rail Infrastructure, and a Safe Working Certificate for track safety, with experience as a Tamper and/or Regulator Operator (TVO1).

Qualifications

• Current Driver’s Licence
• Cert II in Rail Infrastructure - Mandatory
• Current Safe Working Certificate (personal track safety)
• Knowledge of Pandrol Jackson tamper operation
• Experienced Tamper and/or Regulator Operator with TVO1
• Rail network experience and Enterprise Agreement familiarity (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Safely operate track machinery, tampers and regulators.
• Carry out resurfacing tasks for renewal or maintenance of rail infrastructure.
• Participate in replacement/renewal of track and crossing materials (sleepers, rail, ballast, fastenings).
• Carry out routine inspections and basic maintenance of track machines.
• Establish and maintain a safe working environment for staff and infrastructure.
