Job summary
V/Line is hiring a Surfacing Track Machine Operator to maintain Victoria's rail network. You will operate tampers and regulators, participate in renewal projects, and travel across regional Victoria on a 10 days on/4 days off roster with day and night shifts. A strong focus on safety and teamwork is essential.
Requirements include a valid driver’s licence, Cert II in Rail Infrastructure, PTR safety cert, and TVO1 competencies. Flexible, safety‑minded candidates are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
- Current Driver’s Licence - Mandatory
- Cert II in Rail Infrastructure - Mandatory
- Current Safe Working Certificate - PTR - Mandatory
- Experienced Tamper Operator and/or Regulator Operator with TVO1
- Knowledge of Pandrol Jackson tamper is advantageous
- Rail network experience desired
Responsibilities
- Safely operate track machines (Tampers/Regulators).
- Carry out resurfacing tasks for rail renewal/maintenance.
- Assist in replacement/renewal of track materials (sleepers, rail, ballast).
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on track machines.
- Maintain safe working environment for staff and customers.
