Job summary

Hitachi Rail STS Australia Pty Ltd in Sydney, NSW seeks a Services Engineer to provide remote, on-call, shift-based and on-site technical support for CCS and COM systems within the MTS service environment.

The role covers preventive and corrective maintenance, system upgrades, testing and commissioning, with extensive stakeholder coordination and a strong focus on service delivery and SLAs.

Qualifications

• Broad understanding of railway COM and CCS systems.
• Strong knowledge of SCADA and integrated railway systems.
• Experience supporting operational rail or critical infrastructure environments.
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Experience fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, root cause analyses and investigations.
• Familiar with incident management, SLA-based service delivery and asset management.
• Experience supporting testing, commissioning and transition-to-service.
• Experience coordinating with internal teams, suppliers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform remote monitoring, fault diagnosis, troubleshooting and site visits to support rectification.
• Conduct preventive maintenance incl health checks, diagnostics, and reliability improvements.
• Carry out corrective maintenance incl root cause analysis and actions closure.
• Support system upgrades, equipment replacements and software updates.
• Provide technical support for testing, commissioning and migration activities.
• Maintain maintenance records, documentation and customer communications.
• Participate in on-call roster, shift work and out-of-hours support as needed.
• Collaborate with Metro Trains Sydney, Hitachi Rail teams and third-party suppliers.
