Job summary
4AI Systems is seeking an experienced Systems Safety Engineer to provide specialist software and system safety assurance across our rail projects. This full-time, on-site role is based in Warabrook, Newcastle NSW, reporting to the CTO.
You will work with software, hardware and project teams to assess safety impacts and develop robust safety documentation for certification and regulatory approval. The successful candidate will have FHA and safety analysis experience, knowledge of IEC 61508 and
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in engineering, maths or related field.
- Experience applying Functional Hazard Analysis and other safety analyses.
- Strong understanding of functional safety lifecycles and assurance processes.
Responsibilities
- Provide safety assurance across the system lifecycle for rail projects.
- Conduct FHA and assess safety impacts of software and hardware changes.
- Develop and maintain safety documentation (safety plans, safety cases, safety reports).
- Participate in safety audits and assurance activities.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to allocate and implement safety requirements.
