Job summary

John Holland Pty Ltd in Seven Hills is seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join our rail team. You will provide high-level health, safety and environment guidance on a challenging project and help drive continuous improvement of the HSE culture.

You will lead inspections, assist with SWMS and risk assessments, and collaborate with projects to enhance safety performance across the site. A relevant diploma and experience in rail safety are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Safety Management Systems and Safety Management Tools.
• Cert IV in Training & Assessment or equivalent preferred.
• Cert IV in Environmental Management desirable.
• Investigation qualification (ICAM or TapRoot) desirable.
• Lead Auditor qualification desirable.
• Occupational First Aid qualification preferred.
• Strong ability to interpret project documents and monitor compliance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert HSE advice to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Implement and maintain safety inspections and audit schedules.
• Conduct site safety inspections and support corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Projects to improve safety systems.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve operational performance.
• Assist in developing safety documentation such as SWMS and work plans.
• Plan hazard analysis and risk assessment in multi-discipline environments.
• Review regulatory changes and update practices accordingly.
• Manage incident reporting and close out non-compliance timely.
