Job summary

John Holland is seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join our rail team in Seven Hills. You will provide expert safety and environmental guidance, helping to deliver projects across infrastructure and transport sectors while improving HSE culture.

You will develop safety documentation, conduct risk assessments, inspections, and ensure compliance with regulator requirements, client standards and internal policies.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills are a must as well as relevant experience in a safety role is essential.

Responsibilities

• Providing expert advice to ensure compliance with John Holland, Client, and Regulatory requirements
• Implementing and maintaining company safety inspections and audit schedules
• Carrying out site safety inspections and providing support to action corrective actions
• Liaising with Projects to gain insights into how to improve John Holland systems
• Developing and implementing strategies that improve operational performance.
• Providing support to develop safety documentation such as SWMS and work plans
• Planning and facilitating hazard analysis and risk assessment activities in a multi-discipline work environment
• Reviewing and implementing legislative and regulatory changes as required
• Management of incident reporting, and closing out non-compliance issues in a timely and efficient manner

Skills

Excellent interpersonal skills

Rail/Transport industry experience

Microsoft Office proficiency

Education

Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent

Cert IV in Training & Assessment or equivalent

Cert IV in Environmental Management

Investigation Qualification (ICAM or TapRoot desirable)

Lead Auditor Qualification desirable

Occupational First Aid Qualification
