Job summary

CSE Crosscom, a division of CSE Global, is seeking a Service Technician to support and maintain mission-critical communications across mining, utilities, transport and more in Australia. You will work in the field on radio technologies, CCTV, PAGA and IP-based networks.

You will troubleshoot issues, plan upgrades, and deliver reliable service while mentoring apprentices and contributing to safety training and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with radio spectrum, P25, TETRA, DMR, and networked systems.
  • Comfort working at heights with a current high-risk licence.
  • Experience with telephony, CCTV, UPS, access control, PA systems and more.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and staying calm under pressure.
  • Knowledge of ACMA regulations.
  • Team player focused on great customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end servicing of two-way radio systems, including analogue, DMR, TETRA, and P25 networks.
  • Install, test and commission radio networks, IP systems, CCTV, PAGA, telephony, and associated infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment faults across diverse environments – field and in-house.
  • Configure and program radio equipment, including maintenance of code plugs and firmware updates.
  • Conduct site assessments and surveys, prepare implementation plans, and produce detailed reports.
  • Maintain detailed service records, compliance documentation, and ensure workshop tools and vehicles are field-ready.
  • Mentor apprentices and junior team members, helping develop a capable workforce.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, toolbox meetings, safety procedures, and internal training.

Job description

As a Service Technician at CSE Crosscom, you'll play a vital role in supporting and maintaining mission-critical communications systems across a wide range of industries — including mining, emergency services, transport, utilities, and more. You'll be out in the field, working hands-on with cutting-edge radio technologies like DMR, TETRA, P25, LTE and a variety of IP-based networks, as well as CCTV, telephony, and PAGA systems.

About you:
  • Certificate III or higher in Electronics, RF Engineering or similar
  • Hands-on experience with radio spectrum, P25, TETRA, DMR, and networked systems
  • Confidence working at heights, with EWP or tower climbing (current high-risk licence required)
  • Experience with telephony, CCTV, UPS, access control, PA systems, and more
  • Strong troubleshooting skills & calm under pressure
  • Knowledge of ACMA regulations
  • A true team player who takes pride in great customer outcomes
