Job summary

EPEC Group is seeking a Grid Connection Engineer to plan and negotiate test plans, enablement works, and Hold Point reports for GPS compliance and model validation on major Australia renewables projects.

You will work across commissioning of new and existing plants, with exposure to NEM-related requirements, SCADA checks, and power system validation. Join a high‑profile, in‑house team delivering end-to-end grid connection services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Power, or Control Engineering.
• 2+ years in grid compliance, commissioning, or power systems on renewable energy projects.
• Familiarity with AEMO and NSP grid connection frameworks (R0/R1/R2).
• Exposure to power systems modelling software (PSS/E and PSCAD preferred).
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide commissioning management services to drive projects through FAT, construction checks, cold/hot commissioning and performance testing.
• Prepare R2 Test Plans and negotiate with AEMO and NSPs.
• Complete test preparation and enablement activities for testing (SCADA, control system checks, dry-run testing).
• Perform Hold Point testing and related reporting (GPS compliance, model overlay).
• Prepare R2 Model Validation reports per AEMO requirements.
• Support existing plants undergoing changes per AEMO requirements.
• Assist with risk mitigation for R2 commissioning schedules.
