Job summary

Agilent Technologies Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to innovate and develop ideas into successful spectroscopy products within a cross-functional design team.

You will work on concept generation, design, simulations, prototyping and transferring designs to production, with emphasis on reliability and manufacturability.

The role requires 5+ years in R&D, strong GD&T knowledge, and hands-on prototyping using 3D printing and fabrication techniques.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master’s in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.
  • 5+ years R&D experience in high-tech product development.
  • Experience with sheet metal, injection moulding, casting.
  • Strong understanding of ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
  • Proficient with Model Based Definition and PMI 3D CAD/CAE (Siemens NX).
  • FEA, CFD and FMEA experience.
  • Hands-on prototyping in fabrication and rapid prototyping (3D printing).
  • Strong communication and cross-functional teamwork.

  • Coordinate and collaboratively work with the other functions (other R&D teams, marketing, manufacturing, procurement, quality, product support, etc.) required to turn an idea into a commercial product or make improvements to existing products.

Job Description As a Mechanical Engineer you will have the ability to innovate independently and/or work with other engineers to develop ideas into a successful product. You are capable of working in an engineering design team and also independently on tasks.

  • Experience with manufacturing processes - Particularly Sheetmetal, injection moulding, casting.
  • Strong understanding and familiarity with ASME GD&T Y14.5 standards and tolerancing.
  • Familiarity with Model Based Definition and PMI 3D CAD/CAE experience, specifically Siemens NX.
  • FEA, CFD and FMEA experience.
  • Problem solving mind.
  • Strong communication, time management, initiative and ability to work well with cross functional teams, team player.
  • Demonstrated strong hands‑on prototyping skillset in fabrication and rapid prototyping such as 3D printing.
