Job summary

Rheem is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join its R&D team in Rydalmere, NSW, on a fixed 18‑month contract. You will contribute to testing and development of heat pump, electric and gas water heating products in our NATA-accredited labs, performing tests, analysing data and reporting findings.

You will work closely with engineers and technicians to advance next‑generation products that improve energy efficiency and sustainability, using a hands-on, detail‑driven approach.

Qualifications

• Trade or technic qualification in a relevant field.
• ARC Refrigerant Handling Licence or ability to obtain one.
• Strong practical, hands-on skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work occasional afternoon shifts after training.
• Strong numeracy and literacy for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience in refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, lab testing or related technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory tests on heat pump, electric and gas water heating products.
• Analyse test data and prepare reports.
• Maintain laboratory equipment.
• Support prototype evaluation activities.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to develop and validate products.
