Job summary

Rheem Australia Pty Ltd in Sydney is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our R&D team in Rydalmere for an 18-month contract, reporting to the Laboratory Manager. You will test heat pump, electric and gas water heating products in our NATA-accredited laboratories, supporting performance, reliability and compliance testing.

The role suits a hands-on technician with a trade qualification in a technical field (Air Conditioning & Refrigeration preferred) and a current ARC Refrigerant Handling

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in a technical field (Air Conditioning & Refrigeration preferred).
• ARC Refrigerant Handling Licence or ability to obtain one.
• Strong practical, hands-on skills and keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work occasional afternoon shifts following training.
• Strong numeracy and literacy for data analysis and report writing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, laboratory testing or related environment would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Test Heat Pump, Electric and Gas Water Heating products for performance, reliability and compliance.
• Conduct laboratory tests, analyse data, prepare reports.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and support prototype evaluation activities.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians in development and validation of next-generation products.
