Job summary

Cater Care is seeking a State Manager – Operations to lead our Queensland portfolio across aged care, retirement living, and education sites. You will champion culinary quality, mentor site teams, and maintain high standards of dignity and nourishment for residents. Travel across Queensland is required, offering leadership with heart and real community impact.

You will spend time on-site, build trusted client partnerships, and manage budgets while ensuring safety and compliance across all sites.

Qualifications

• Senior multi-site leadership experience across contract catering, aged care dining, or large-scale food service operations.
• Trade Certification (Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, Chef qualification, or equivalent)
• Practical, approachable leadership style with mentoring front-line teams.
• Valid Australian Driver’s Licence and your own reliable vehicle for regular regional and metro site visits across Queensland.
• Sound commercial acumen and budget oversight; uphold Aged Care & Education dining standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support day-to-day catering operations across a broad portfolio of Queensland sites.
• Coach, mentor, and inspire site managers, chefs, and kitchen teams; foster a positive workplace culture.
• Spend regular time on-site, listening to residents and building client partnerships.
• Manage operational budgets, food costs, and resources to drive strong commercial and quality outcomes.
• Ensure strict compliance to food safety standards, Aged Care standards, nutritional guidelines, and WHS compliance.
